Method
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, protein powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and black pepper.
- Cut in butter: Add the cold cubed butter and use a fork or pastry cutter to mix until the texture looks crumbly.
- Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt, eggs, and milk until smooth.
- Bring the dough together: Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until a soft dough forms.
- Add protein mix-ins: Fold in cheddar cheese, cooked turkey sausage, and any optional add-ins.
- Shape the biscuits: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it gently into a thick rectangle and cut into biscuits.
- Bake: Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 13 to 16 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
- Cool and serve: Let the biscuits cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or store for meal prep.
Notes
These biscuits are best when the dough is handled gently. Do not overmix or press the dough too hard, or the biscuits can become dense. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for the best texture. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months.
